Rhydymwyn FC secured three points in the LockStock Ardal North West on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 26th minute Iwan Rogers goal.

The scoreline did little to reflect the game, which Rhydymwyn dominated large parts having seen multiple chances to extend their lead further.

The travelling CPD Y Felinheli threatened first however, with a shot going off the right post just a few minutes after kick off.

Once Rhydymwyn grew into the game after 10 minutes, they rarely stopped with attacks on the visitor’s goal, culminating with a corner kick after 25 minutes.

It was then that Rogers found the net with a goal straight from his corner kick delivery, with the in-swinging effort beating everyone to go in at the near top right corner.

Rhydymwyn finished the first half on top, and could’ve finished it way before the final whistle as the likes of Sam Haley, Adam Woosey and Nathan Mendoza all went close.

They may well have found the net if not for the performance of Felinheli goalkeeper Guto Hughes, who pulled off multiple close range stops to deny Rhyd.

With the score still 1-0 into the 80th minute, the game remained alive as Felinheli fought to find a late equaliser.

Rhydymwyn again had a flurry chances beyond the 90th minute, but they had done enough at full time to secure all three points.

Following the game, co-managers Anthony Weaver and Jord Parry spoke on the result:
